Osteopathic therapies?

Osteopathy is a type of health care that focuses on the structure and function of the human body. Therapists mainly use their hands to treat different conditions.

Osteopathy provides treatments for conditions affecting the bones, ligaments, fascias, muscles and tendons. We'll perform a full diagnosis of your condition and provide a comprehensive treatment tailored to your needs.  You can also visit our clinic for podiatry and reflexology.

Initial osteopathy treatment

Our qualified osteopath, Rupal Pankhania, will first take your case history that includes age, occupation, symptoms, lifestyle and much more.

A thorough examination will then be conducted on the area affected. You will be asked to do some simple movements through which the therapist will be able to gauge where the pain originates from.

You might also be required to take a neurological, orthopaedic or circulatory examination. Our osteopath will then suggest exercise programmes to improve and maintain flexibility, stability and strength.

Treating work conditions

Osteopathy can also help treat pain caused due to work conditions by manual work as well as sedentary occupations.

Manual work mainly causes disc bulges and sciatica because of lifting heavy loads, stretching and prolonged bending. Sedentary occupations cause Repetitive Strain Injury (RSI) of the wrist, stiffness of neck, shoulder pain and more.

Our osteopath suggests small adjustments that can make a big difference with the way you work. We issue OFF WORK CERTIFICATES for those who need it.

Treating sports injuries

Athletes often get injured because of over exertion or weakness. Osteopathy also treats sports injuries. A detailed action plan will be drafted based on the kind of injury and the relevant treatment will be provided.

If you are looking to get back into sports, osteopathy can be a good method of regaining flexibility and improving joint mobility.

Osteopathy for all conditions

Treating the elderly: We provide tailored long-term plans for elderly patients. It is advised to start osteopathy early on to avoid acute pain. Also, visiting once every 4-6 weeks is recommended to avoid recurring symptoms.

Treatment during pregnancy: Most of the women experience lower and mid back pain, Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction (SPD) and heartburn during pregnancy. Our experienced osteopath suggests the right posture as well as exercises to help you gain strength and stability - and to cope with the pain.

Treating babies: The most common conditions that babies experience are back pain, shoulder and neck stiffness. Osteopathy for babies is extremely gentle and are said to respond quickly as per research.
